On April 12th 1961, the russian pilot Yuri Alexejewitsch Gagarin was the first human being in space. With this spaceship Wostok 1, Gagarin orbits the earth one time in 108 minutes. Back on earth, he landed at the area of the Volga, where the Russians built him one of many historical monuments all over the country.

On behalf of the FSA Roscosmos, Fortis has produced the limited editon Yuri Gagarin GMT, limited to only 300 pieces, showing the portrait of Yuri Gagarin on the case back to celebrate this 50th jubilee.

About half of the edition will be presented as the anniversary gift from the Federal Space Agency Roscosmos to special friends and partners in the space community, while the other half can be found in stores from May on from space enthuasists for all over the world!

Additional features of the watch are: Automatic Swiss movement, sapphire crystal, screw down crown ensuring the water resistance of 200 m / 20 bar, 24 hour hand with orange top indicating the 2nd time zone on the 24 hour scale at the outer ring of the dial, special imprint on the dial and a special caseback decoration showing the portrait of Yuri Gagarin.
