The Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar has been awarded “Watch of the Year 2012” on the website www.timezone.com, the world's largest community of wrist-watch enthusiasts. 38 per cent of all registered users have voted for this model of A. Lange & Söhne which has been launched last year.
It is the second time that a watch from the traditional Saxon brand wins this competition. In 2009, the Lange Zeitwerk has already received this prize.
“We accept this award with great honour“, says Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid, “consider-ing that watch collectors from all over the world are communicating with passion and expertise on this website”. The leading English language website for wristwatch collec-tors was already founded in 1994.
The Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar unites two classic complications with the expressive LANGE 1 style. The ingenious arrangement of the displays including the world's first rotating peripheral month ring allows an unequalled legibility of all calendar information.
Seven models have been nominated by the moderators of the different brand forums at www.timezone.com. The Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar has won the competition by a clear margin of 15 per cent to the second place. Overall, A. Lange & Söhne has received more than 180 awards since 1994.
