Following years of product development and extensive testing, the first modern time pieces in the series of 128 from ancient watch manufacturer Halda Watch Company are ready for delivery. The Halda Space Discovery, Limited Edition features a revolutionary watch concept in an elegant wrapping based on groundbreaking use of materials, technology and engineering. It is developed by a team of renowned watchmakers, merited engineers and astronaut Christer Fuglesang, lead by watch entrepreneur Mikael Sandström. The official delivery process was kicked off as astronaut Fuglesang received his time piece at a closed ceremony in Stockholm on February 17th.
The Halda Space Discovery features a revolutionary concept featuring two interchangeable Time Modules that can be docked into a Time Platform. One Time Module features extremely advanced electronics designed to serve an astronauts' needs during a space mission while the other, an extreme high beat mechanical movement, is a reliable accessory created for classy socializing.
The watch concept has been developed during several years by a team consisting of merited engineers, renowned watch makers, such as Mr. Svend Andersen and astronaut Christer Fuglesang. It pioneers previously unseen technical solutions and use of materials only used in advanced space programs. As part of the development process, the electronic Time Module was tested by astronaut Fuglesang on board the space shuttle Discovery in the NASA space mission STS-128 in 2009.

The presentation of the very first modern Halda watch took place a closed ceremony at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm on February 17th. Aside the numbered time piece, astronaut Fuglesang also received a specially designed Flight Strap for his travel to space featuring his name and the flag of his home country, Sweden.
The Halda Space Discovery is now also showcased at ‘NASA – A Human Adventure', an exhibition hosted by the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. The Halda Space Discovery is available for purchase through the Halda Watch Company, current price is EUR 9.800.
