On July 27th 2007, Montblanc hosted an exclusive gala dinner at the Amadeus Weekend. This was the second time that Montblanc hosted the weekend of culture at the Salzburg Festival. The event was attended by international celebrities such as Bianca Jagger invited by patron Donald Kahn.
The highlight of the evening was an auction during which a unique Montblanc necklace, entitled “Montblanc loves music”, created specially for this event, was auctioned for 48.000 Euro (65,526 USD).
At the end of the thrilling auction, a guest of the Montblanc Amadeus Dinner (who wants to be kept anonymous) was the proud owner of this absolutely magnificent necklace.
This unique piece of jewellery, created by Montblanc's master craftsmen, is made of solid 750 white gold. The romantic heart pendant is set with pavé diamonds (2.53 carat in total) and features a treble clef set with baguette-cut diamonds (3.5 carat in total).

The centrepiece of this magnificent piece of jewellery is the flawless “Montblanc Diamond”. Artistically cut in the shape of the iconic Montblanc star, it is a stunning tribute to Montblanc's brand symbol, which is synonymous with the finest quality, a passion for perfection and superb craftsmanship. The gem's perfect clarity and sparkling colours make the light at the centre of the diamond dance and reveal its dazzling brilliance. It took eight years of research and development to create the perfect cut for the “Montblanc Diamond”.
The proceeds of the auction will be donated and used to purchase contemporary art for the House for Mozart. Last year, a unique Montblanc fountain pen from the Mozart Edition was auctioned. The proceeds of both of these auctions will enable the purchase of important new acquisitions for the House for Mozart.
The auction was organised and conducted by Dr. Philipp Herzog von Württemberg, Managing Director Sotheby´s Paris.
