Birth of the new Calibre 13R0
On Friday October 13th 2006, in the Cité du Temps (Geneva), Blancpain CEO Marc A. Hayek presented the new mechanical movement from the Manufacture in Le Brassus to an audience of keen watch connoisseurs. The press conference, followed by the official inauguration of the exhibition devoted to the new calibre, concluded on a gourmet note aboard the famous“Savoie” steamboat under the guidance of the talented chef Philippe Chevrier.
Officially unveiled to a knowledgeable public last Friday, the Calibre 13R0 is a new milestone in Blancpain history. This recent creation is entirely in line with the tradition of innovation that the Manufacture in Le Brassus has been tirelessly perpetuating since 1735. Representing the fruit of an assiduous quest for precision and performance, the new movement embodies a perfect blend of avant-garde concepts and respect for tradition. Adorned with extremely fine finishing, this efficient, accurate and reliable “motor” once again pushes the limits of fine watchmaking.
The exhibition dedicated to it and entitled “The Tradition of Innovation continues: a new calibre is born”, will be on display from October 14th through November 20th 2006 in the Cité du Temps, at the heart of Geneva. Featuring a number of educational 3D animations, the exhibition celebrates the distinctive assets and technical characteristics of this understated yet prestigious creation. Visitors will also be able to admire the major timepieces on which the brand has built its reputation. World firsts and pioneering movements are the keynotes of the exhibition that commemorates and retraces all the innovations achieved to date by Blancpain in the field of mechanical horology, now reaching a new apex in the shape of Calibre 13R0.

Naissance du nouveau calibre 13R0 Vendredi 13 octobre 2006, à la Cité du Temps (Genève), Marc A. Hayek, Président de Blancpain, a présenté devant un auditoire de férus d'horlogerie, le nouveau mouvement mécanique de la Manufacture du Brassus. La conférence de presse, suivie de l'inauguration officielle de l'exposition consacrée au nouveau calibre, s'est prolongée sur une note gastronomique, à bord du célèbre bateau à vapeur le « Savoie », sous la houlette du talentueux Chef Philippe Chevrier. Intronisé officiellement auprès d'un public averti, vendredi dernier, le calibre 13R0 augure une nouvelle étape marquante de l'histoire de Blancpain. Cette récente création fait corps avec la tradition d'innovation que la Manufacture du Brassus perpétue sans discontinuer depuis 1735. Fruit d'une quête assidue de précision et de performance, le nouveau venu allie à la perfection technologie d'avant-garde et respect de la tradition. Orné de finitions très raffinées, ce moteur efficace, précis et fiable, repousse une fois encore les limites de la belle horlogerie. L'exposition « La Tradition d'Innovation continue : un nouveau calibre est né. », qui lui est consacrée, tiendra l'affiche du 14 octobre au 20 novembre 2006 à la Cité du Temps, au coeur de Genève. Jalonnée d'animations 3D didactiques, l'exposition célèbre les atours et spécificités technique de cette création à la fois sobre et prestigieuse. On peut également y découvrir les gardetemps majeurs qui ont participé à la renommée de la marque. Premières mondiales et mouvements pionniers sont les maîtres mots de l'exposition qui commémore et retrace toutes les innovations réalisées par Blancpain dans l'univers de l'horlogerie mécanique jusqu'à ce jour, avec en point culminant, le calibre 13R0. |
