La cavalière hollandaise Angelique Hoorn et le Suisse Niklaus Schurtenberger ont remporté le CSIO de Barcelone, septième et dernière épreuve du Longines Press Award for Elegance
At the CSIO Barcelona, the 7th and final stage of the Longines Press Award for Elegance, the Dutch rider Angelique Hoorn and the Swiss rider Niklaus Schurtenberger have been awarded the prestigious prize. Longines would like to congratulate them on this achievement, not only reflecting their distinctive elegance, but also their exceptional sporting performance throughout the Super League season 2008. Longines was also very honoured to award the title to the winner of the Gran Premio Longines, the talented Dutch rider Gerco Schröder.
The winners, who had been pre-selected for the final round by achieving the best sporting results throughout the six previous CSIO events (La Baule, Rome, St. Gallen, Rotterdam, Hickstead and Dublin), persuaded the jury by their incomparable elegance. The jury composed of equestrian journalists clearly voted for Angelique Hoorn as she was undoubtedly above the other female competitors. Angelique was in total harmony with her horse and had a perfectly regular and consistent rhythm in riding the course. Niklaus Schurtenberger and Cantus were elected as the most elegant pair in the male category: the rider‘s and the horse‘s movements smoothly melted into a single one. Not only did they convince by their elegance but also by their great performance winning the second place at the Gran Premio Longines.
The winners of the Longines Press Award for Elegance have received a trophy, a set of Longines watches and a cheque for 20‘000 Swiss francs.
At this year‘s CSIO Barcelona, Longines is proud to serve for the sixth time in a row as official partner, timekeeper and title sponsor of the Gran Premio Longines.
