Aksel Lund Svindal visited the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals 2008 in Bormio where he will be awarding watches to the winners of the 2007-2008 World Cup. At this occasion, the Longines Ambassador met the press and talked about his recovery after his accident last November, his feelings on the 2007-2008 season as well as his aims for the next season.
One year after his fantastic victory at the 2007 Alpine Skiing Finals in Lenzerheide, Aksel Lund Svindal was again present on the great white circus but as a spectator. The press caught the opportunity to meet the Norwegian ski star who shared his experiences after his accident last November in Beaver Creek. "When I came back to watch the competitions, I noticed how much I like it", the Norwegian said. Invited by Longines as an Ambassador of the Swiss watch brand and accompanied by Longines Brand manager in Italy Gian Carlo Prevosto, the overall 2007 Alpine Skiing World Cup winner explained how he experienced this season: "I lost a lot of weight because of the injury and I had to work hard to get back on the skis and to go faster and faster. I am still not in a perfect shape, but my aim is to be ready for the start of the 2008-2009 season", he said. Regarding the Bormio Finals, Aksel Lund Svindal mentioned he was glad to see that the suspense of the season's competition remained until the end of the final race ".
