Two new brands enrich the exclusive range of the Genevese boutique l'Heure Asch

Geneva – 23rd October 2006. As of today, two new brands enrich the exclusive range of the Genevese boutique l'Heure Asch : the watches H. MOSER & CIE, symbols of watchmaking tradition going back to 1826, and the unique designer wall clocks CHRONARTE proposing a new and original time display.

ChronArte, the new breed of timepieces
In search for new ways to display time, the engineer and designer Heinz Mutter opens a new dimension in timepieces. His wall clocks combine modern technology, design and functionality. These Swiss made clocks are fascinating and original designer pieces. Just the right thing for trailblazers and lovers of nonconformity and new temporal dimensions. Visually and technically unique, these electronic radio- or quartz-controlled clocks are easy to operate.

The ChronArte range includes the lines Quadro (see opposite picture), Canna and Filo.

The Quadro matrix wall clock is technologically unique. The hour is transformed into coloured surface and grows with the hours and minutes passing. Once the surface is filled, the process starts again. The combination of colours and surfaces transforms the clock into an artistic element and wall decoration.

The twelve glass tubes of the designer wall clock ChronArte Canna fill like a cascade with coloured water. Once the dozen is filled, the system empties and the cycle starts again. An exceptionally decorative element for generous and timeless rooms. Continuously flowing water as a symbol for time passing.

The columns of ChronArte Filo fill up with colour and visually translate the minutes, the hours and the days passing. Incredibly simple, both so obvious and practical. The hour and the date with style. To be hanged up alone or in combination.

H. Moser & Cie, watchmaking tradition « par excellence »

Heinrich Moser grew up in Schaffhausen in the tradition and experience of a watchmaking dynasty that had become established over the generations. As a skilled and visionary watchmaker, he founded in 1828 his first flourishing company in St. Petersburg. This marked the hour of inception of the greatly successful brand, H. Moser & Cie.

The creation of a watch factory in Le Locle in 1829 in order to guarantee the high quality of all products was crowned by success. Moser supplied the Imperial Court, various princes and the armed forces in Russia. Within just a few years, he was selling watches to Persia, China and Japan, as well as New York and Paris.

His involvement to transform the quiet town of Schaffhausen into a lively and attractive industrial location was various : construction of a canal on the Rhine, setting up of various companies, launch of the construction of the largest Swiss dam on the Rhine, to supply neighbouring industrial companies with inexpensive energy via a power transmission system. At the same time, he built the magnificent Charlottenfels country manor house for his family.

Nowadays, Heinrich Moser is still omnipresent in his home town Schaffhausen. The city pays homage to him through a street and a park that bear his name, a bronze bust and, of course, the castle open to the public.

Moser Schaffhausen AG, the current watch factory, employs some twenty employees and enjoys an international reputation. The great-grandson of Heinrich Moser, Roger Nicholas Balsiger, is today Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors. With the help of watchmaking professionals and investors, he looks after the safeguard of the exceptional quality of the mechanical watches H. Moser & Cie, as well as the perfect combination of tradition and innovation, making the filiation easily recognisable.

L'Heure Asch : the collectors' privileged address

Denis Asch's passion for mechanical watches and complications has led him to exclusively represent brands particularly appreciated by devotees. He definitely prefers staying off the beaten track of “must have” reference brands, and chooses those that still retain their original, essential substance. Powerful signatures in technical or inventive terms, or creative craftsmen without a distribution network (Académie des Horlogers Créateurs Indépendants). Watch companies which provide something other than social recognition: the true satisfaction of connoisseurs, and models offering value for money with an authentic flavour. Thanks to his unusual approach and passion, his address is confidentially passed around among connoisseurs both near and far.
