For the eight consecutive years, Arabian Watches & Jewellery (AWJ) Magazine hosted the Middle East Premier Awards, presented alongside Jewellery Arabia 2012. The Presentation Ceremony, was accompanied by a grand dinner reception at The Ritz Carlton, in the Kingdom of Bahrain on Tuesday, 16 October, the inaugural night of Jewellery Arabia 2012. The event was attended by over 300 distinguished high profile guests.

Arnold & Son is proud to communicate as winner in the category ‘Best Classical Watch' the HMS1 in 18-carat white gold case with silver coloured dial. The case is 40 mm in diameter and houses a manufacture hand-wound movement which is only 2.7 mm thick. The HMS1 is a perfect reflection of traditional classical elegance in the Arnold & Son's Royal Collection. The Royal Collection which is inspired by the timepieces made during the earlier part of John Arnold's life for King George III and the royal court, the HMS1 in the Arnold & Son Royal Collection is an eloquent expression of elegance and sophistication in the inimitable English style.
The A&S1001 calibre, with its gorgeous Côte de Genève rayonnantes decoration was an inspired choice and takes up the iridescent play of light that creates depth and dynamism as in the dial. The manufacture movement is made of rhodium-treated nickel silver with haute horlogerie finishing, with hand-chamfered bridges with exquisitely polished edges, fine circular graining and blued screws. The two barrels providing over 80 hours power reserve is a desired achievement, whereas most watches in this segment of the market only provide a single barrel. The solution of having two barrels also provides more constant power and more constant force, which will result in improved accuracy the whole time the movement is running.
